SURVEY DETAILS
TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 50 senior executives working in the packaging industry across Europe (UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France).

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents shared their views on how rising tariffs have impacted the cost of various packaging materials such as paper, plastic, and aluminium, as well as the extent of recent supply chain disruptions.
  • The survey also explored the role of automation, AI adoption, and compliance challenges in reshaping logistics and operational efficiency within the packaging industry.
  • Lastly, the research captured expectations on packaging margins, pricing trends, future innovation strategies, and how companies plan to align with EU Green Deal targets through circular economy initiatives and carbon reduction efforts.

Examples of findings:

  • Nearly seven-in-ten (68%) stated that companies are evaluating options of reshoring or increasing domestic sourcing to avoid trade risks.
  • 71% of experts in aluminium packaging manufacturers reported that the beverage packaging industry is forming long-term contracts or passing increased costs to customers, in response to changing input costs and trade policies.
  • Almost eight-in-ten respondents (78%) anticipate a reduction in packaging waste and improved recyclability as one of the EU Green Deal targets.
